New Year, New Nails! - Vitry Nail Repair Care Review

Note: I received complimentary product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

A good manicure is like a pizza. Without a good crust, the toppings won't stay on! Okay, maybe that analogy is a bit of a stretch. But your mani is only as good as it's base, and that means having long & strong nails. As much as I like to layer on the lacquer, my nails haven't been in the best shape lately. A few sessions of shellac, combined with the harsh winter chill, had left my nails even more brittle and weaker than ever. I couldn't go a week without a nail breaking or peeling on me. No base coat could save me, or my polish for that matter!

Thankfully, the lovely team at Nail Polish Canada sent over a bottle of the Vitry Nail Repair Care Sensitive Formula for me to test out!

Vitry Nail Repair Care - Also available in regular & matte formulas.

Instructions say to apply 1 coat, every other day for 2 weeks in order to see 'visibly stronger and better resistant nails'. I decided to test it over the span of a month so I could ensure a completely fair review for you all. Miracles don't happen overnight!

Before, without any polish or treatment. They were thin, brittle and peeling. Yuck!

This treatment was extremely easy to use. It has a thin brush, but it distributes just enough to get an even coverage. What I love most about this treatment is how quickly it dries down; I could paint on a thin coat while my morning coffee was brewing, and be done by the time I pour myself a cuppa'.

While it states this can be used as a base coat for other nail polish, I found it caused the application to become streaky and increase the need for more coats. You'd be better off using an actual designated base coat on top of this. Thankfully, this treatment gives a nice glossy appearance to my nude nails. Going bare was, well...bearable!

Left: Bare nails, before applying any treatment
Right: After one month of regular use, applied every other day (wearing one coat of
Vitry Nail Repair Care). My nails are in much better shape!

Having to remove the treatment with polish remover before reapplying seems a bit tedious, but I found the results to be worthwhile. My nails were already harder and less prone to breakage after only a week!

After a month of regular usage, my nails are in the best shape they've ever been in! I find they've stopped peeling, splitting and breaking (except on one occasion where I slipped and broke two nails. But that's completely my own fault).

The Vitry Nail Repair Care Treatment has become a regular part of my nail care routine, and I look forward to having long & strong nails in all seasons!
