How to Spice Up Your Outfit With Autumn Hues - My Colorful Trip to Abby Hill Farms

Hitting up the pumpkin patch is easily my most favourite fall activity, not only because it's fun to frolic through the fields of orange, but because it gives me all of the outfit inspiration. My blogger bestie Maggie (aka,The Brash Brunette), and I took a little roadtrip outside of the city to Abby Hill Farms this past weekend, and while I didn't bring any gourds home with me, I still have the colour palette from the patch on my mind.

It's hard not to be inspired by all the colours this time of year.  From the pumpkins to the cornstalks, there's so many hues you can pull from the patch to add to your wardrobe. For example, I look at the glossy candy apples and think of trendy patent red boots. Or I'm reminded of vibrant floral patterns from the many colours of the corn. You can easily look at anything here and determine which colours to pair together for your next look, because they all play so well together!

Kicking myself for not bringing a few of these bad boys home with me.
I'm always drawn to rich burgundies and deep orange tones, which you can see was plentiful around the farm. Some might say these shades would clash with my fuschia pink hair, but I've never been one to play by the rules anyway. It's all the same colour family, so don't be afraid to play with monochromatic looks for a very cohesive look.
You can even play with makeup instead to add some pumpkin spice to your life! I'm wearing NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Copenhagen', a rich bordeaux shade; this is a bold but easy way to incorporate the shades of the season to your look.

"OH HEY THERE, PUMPKIN! HOW YOU DOIN'?"

When I spotted this top, I knew it would satisfy my autumn cravings and wear well with a ton of pieces in my closet. If you can believe it, this blouse is actually from the pajama section of Joe Fresh (it also comes in 3 other colour ways, and yes I need them all)!
And can we talk about florals for fall? Groundbreaking - Seriously! It's a classic trend warmed up by the shades of the season, as seen on Maggie and I.

Squash Goals, right here (Maggie is also wearing pieces from Joe Fresh).

I've got a bucket, got a bucket full a' sunshine...
Have you made a trip to the pumpkin patch this season? Abby Hill Farms is just a 25 minute drive from downtown Ottawa, and it's totally worth the trip! They have all the gourds and squash you can carry, plus a petting zoo for the little ones! I can't wait to take my future family here for years to come!

What are your favourite fall shades? How do you incorporate them into your personal style? Tell me in the comments! Thanks for reading!
