This goes hand-in-hand with the above cleanser, and together they're a match made in acne-fighting heaven. My history with acne solutions has been rocky in the past because they always left me dry and irritated. This is so gentle while still being incredibly effective; the combination of salicylic & glycolic acids work well to purify and balance the skin.
I had a nasty cystic pimple that was starting to form when this arrived at my doorstep, and in a few days it had drastically shrunk in size. I am definitely going to be reaching for this anytime my hormones start wreaking havoc on my skin.
Reversa Eye Care - $37 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart
Anything that makes me look like I got 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep gets an A+ from me. I love a good eye cream for this very reason, and I'm definitely giving Reversa a passing grade. The formula is very lightweight so it doesn't feel greasy under the eyes, while still giving just the right amount of hydration.
There's a lot of interesting science behind the ingredient list, but put simply the trio of ash tree bark extract, vitamin B3, and organic silicon work their magic to make those dreaded dark circles disappear. Combined with my morning coffee, you'd never know I was up all night with a teething baby.

You use a primer for your foundation, why not start using one for your moisturizer too? This lightweight layering product not only helps to seal in hydration, it also protects against environmental stressers like pollution and second-hand smoke.
Because my skin has been more dry than usual as of lately, I've been layering this under my moisturizer (day and night). It really helps everything absorb into the skin and gives your other products more mileage so you can use less!
Reversa Radiance-C Concentrate - $60 CAD at Shopper's Drug Mart
If you find your skin is in dire need of a spring awakening, look no further. Vitamin C is easily one of my favourite skincare ingredients because it truly livens things up. While the price point is a bit higher than my usual recommendations, it is worthwhile for the quality. 20% pure vitamin C is nothing to shake your head at! This is one of the most effective ways to make your face look brighter.
It's like a ray of sunshine in a bottle!
Because this is made of Vitamin C in its purest form (ascorbic acid) at a high potency, I do not recommend this if you're new to the skincare game. It can cause irritation pretty quickly if misused, so it is of utmost importance to follow the directions on the label; that means applying this to damp skin, and patting it on rather than rubbing it in.
Reversa Radiance Cream - $49 CAD at Shopper's Drug Mart
I saved this product for last because sun protection is so important and often overlooked.
As mentioned previously, Reversa is known for their use of glycolic acid as their primary ingredient. But because of it's chemical exfoliating properties, it can make you more susceptible to good ol' Mr Sun's harmful rays. Thankfully they concocted this moisturizer to help protect that newly revived skin of yours!
This also happens to be my favourite Reversa product of them all! Not all sunscreen is made equally, but this is one I've come back to repeatedly. It is not heavy or greasy, it's practically odorless, and it layers seamlessly under makeup. No white cast here! Just beautiful, broad spectrum protection.

This past winter was brutal and never-ending. At one point we were gifted about 20cm of snow within 3 days. Needless to say, the minute I started to see a glimpse of my driveway, I was pretty elated.
Unfortunately the weather was also particularly unkind to my skin. I tend to be the textbook example of combination skin; oily T-zone, dry everywhere else. But now it seems that I'm consistently as dry as the Sahara everywhere. Add postpartum hormones to the mix, and I have a lovely arrangement of cystic acne to boot. I needed something that would rid me of the winter blahs from the inside out!
Bright packaging with even brighter results! Keep reading to see how this lineup is getting my skin ready for spring. |
I'm so grateful the folks at Reversa reached out to offer a range of their products to test out. This dermocosmetic line is formulated in Canada within a pharmaceutical laboratory. They are known for their use of glycolic acid to help skin look its very best. You'll also be pleased to know their line is vegan friendly and completely cruelty-free!
My skin is experiencing a spring awakening thanks to these products. Here's a run down of what they sent over, and how they're helping to revitalize my dull, tired and acne-prone skin.
Reversa Acnex Purifying Cleansing Gel - $23 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart
As mentioned, I've been dealing with some pretty nasty hormonal acne these days. Thankfully, this cleanser contains 2% salicylic acid to help deep clean my pores. Unlike other acne washes, this does not contain alcohol or soap, so it won't strip away the skin's natural moisture. That means it's gentle enough for everyday use, especially if you have combo skin like myself.
