After watching Grease for the bajillionth time, I found myself relating to Frenchy more and more (not just because we both look fabulous in fuchsia). Dare I say it, I'd likely flunk out of beauty school, too.
It's embarrassing to admit that even in my 29th year of life, I still consider myself a novice when it comes to hair styling. I'm forever attempting to stretch out the lifespan of a salon blowout, because the mere thought of replicating it makes me sweat. I only just learned how to braid my hair within the last 2 years, and my technique still majorly needs improvement. Thank god no one has filmed me any time I've attempted to dry my hair with a round brush, otherwise I'd surely be the subject of some fail compilation video.
Needless to say, I rely on heat styling tools to simplify things. Unfortunately my hair routine tends to be quite time consuming; whether I use a blow dryer or let ol' Mother Nature do her thing, I still need to run a flat iron over my locks to keep things sleek & smooth. Now that I have to juggle getting myself AND Elliott ready each morning, I don't always end up leaving the house with Insta-perfect hair.
Revlon recently came to the rescue and sent me the new One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer to test out. Folks, before you read any further, know this; IT IS A TOTAL GAME CHANGER.
Frenchy without the frizz, thanks to Revlon's revolutionary new hair tool! |
Who needs beauty school when you can get salon perfect hair at home?! Revlon One-Step hair dryer and volumizer - $64.97 CAD |
You folks know I don't like to get too pushy with my product recommendations, but I can confidently say that this is an absolute must-have. It's no surprise to me that Allure deemed this the best brush dryer in their 2019 Best of Beauty Awards, because it has quickly become my ultimate one-and-done beauty tool. Equipped with a unique oval design, a combination of nylon pin & tufted bristles, and Revlon's Ionic Technology, this promises quick & easy, frizz-free smoothness.
This hair tool also comes in Purple & Mint colours, though you can assume correctly that pink would most definitely be my first choice. |
These bristles will tame your frizz faster than you can say, "La Coifferie". |
Do the twist, and the base clicks in to your desired heat setting. |
At first glance, I felt a little intimidated by it. I was certain my hair would tangle immediately after the first pass, but I was quite pleasantly surprised by how user friendly it is!
Though it is a bit heavier than my standard hair dryer, the ergonomic grip and swivel cord make it easy to maneuver. It even has a cool tip that you can grip without fear of scorching your fingers (fellow klutzes rejoice!).
The key to getting the best results from this tool is to start off by sectioning your hair. While it seems tedious to run this through smaller strands, it actually works quickly even on a low setting. I like to start at the root and roll it underneath my hair towards my neck. Once I've done my entire head I turn it to the 'cool' setting and do a quick pass to lock-in my sleek, smooth & oh so sexy new 'do.
My hair is pretty thick, so the fact that I could completely dry my hair in about 10 minutes without having to flat iron it after was nothing short of a miracle. And because I'm using less heat in less time than, I don't have to worry about my pink colour fading as fast!
Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer for $64.97 CAD, at Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, London Drugs, Amazon.ca, and most other major retailers.
This is what my hair looks like after letting it air-dry and not letting any heat tools near it. Not a look I'm crazy about, mostly because I'm not sure what my bangs think they're doing. |
