Bite Beauty Mauvember 2017 Lipsticks Swatch & Review - Why I Joined The Movember 'Mauve'ment

Movember is a cause that I care deeply about. And that't not just because I'm fond of facial hair on men. It is a wonderful charity that raises funds towards men's health. This of course includes testicular and prostate cancer research, but also benefits mental health awareness and suicide prevention, as well. Through the month of Movember, the iconic moustache becomes a conversation starter to address these issues, in hopes we can save the lives of young men.

Since I am unable to sport a 'stache myself, I'm always looking for ways to be involved in the month-long campaign as a proud Mo'Sista. Thanks to Bite Beauty, there's a way for lipstick aficionados to support the fight against male cancers and support the well-being of young men across Canada.

But before we talk more about lipstick, I want to get personal for a 'mo'ment. Let me introduce you to my good friend Corey; he is the reason I've become so passionate about supporting this important Movember movement.

I met Corey through my now-husband, about 5 years ago. He is one of my closest, and dearest friends; I love him like he's a member of my family. Not long after we met and became friends, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Corey & I (and my various hairstyles) over the past 5 years.
Thanks to early detection and regular check-ups, he recently celebrated his 5th year of being cancer-free! And while a clean bill of health is something to rejoice over, unfortunately this is not always the reality for young men like him.

According to Movember Canada, testicular cancer is the most common male cancer for those under 40 (prostate cancer being most prevalent in those ages 50+).
Corey has become a champion for male cancer awareness, and one of the most avid supporters of the Movember Foundation. He proudly rocks a moustache throughout the month of November, to commemorate his battle, support fellow fighters and survivors, and to help ensure cancer becomes a thing of the past.

His motivation for the cause has inspired me to be a part of the movement. Or should I say, 'mauve-ment'! Aside from cheering on the Mo'Bros in my life as they grow out their facial hair, I always make sure to pick up the Bite Beauty Mauvember Lipstick.

This is the 3rd year in a row Bite has released their limited edition 'Mauvember' lipstick shade, and this time they have released it in 2 different formulas; the Multistick and the Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick. Not only is it a great way to expand your makeup collection, half the sale from each lipstick and 100% of Bite Beauty's proceeds go directly to The Movember Foundation!

Amuse Bouche Liquified Listick in 'Mauvember 2017' - $28 CAD

I was thrilled to see they included the latest formulation (my personal favourite), the Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick. I did a post about this lipstick not too long ago, so I won't go over the same details. Rest assured, my opinion has not changed one bit; It is lusciously creamy, super pigmented and gently moisturizes. While it is not technically long-wearing as it does not dry down, I don't find I need to reapply much, even after eating.

If you don't own a Liquified Lipstick yet, you might as well pick one up for a great cause!

The Multistick in 'Mauvember 2017' - $28 CAD

Amazingly, being the Bite Beauty addict that I am, I had never tried The Multistick until now! I honestly don't know why I waited; it is a very unique cream to powder formula that can be worn all over the face. Multi-use products are my weakness, what can I say?!

Aside from my lips, I was hesitant to put this anywhere else on my face. I feared it would be too dark for my pale skin, but it blends out beautifully to a very soft mauve. It makes for a gorgeous blush, and even prettier eyeshadow. If you're looking for a cost-effective way to take on the monochromatic makeup trend; this is the way to do it!

Having purchased the 2016 edition, which is in the Amuse Bouche Lipstick formula, I was looking forward to owning a similar shade in 2 very different variations.  You can see from the swatches above that the 2017 versions are much more vibrant. Though all 3 are a gorgeous, deep mauve shade that will look gorgeous on any skintone.
